M. KUZ, DRUMMER/COMPOSER/PRODUCER OF KUZBEATS
MODUS OPERANDI
KUZbeats is cinematic music that tests the limits of genre. Also, it rocks. It’s uniquely suited to film score/ video game/ tv/ animation/ elsewhere.
M. Kuz is my handle. I grew up outside Detroit, Michigan in a large immigrant community. Exposure to music beyond western-centric traditions was just a normal part of life. I listen to everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. KUZbeats reflects that expansive attitude.
Music is personal. I imbue my music with as much heart and imagination as I can, mixing organic and primitive elements with modern sounds. It gives the music a timeless quality.
Suriname, Guatemala, South Africa, Zambia, and Liberia have all been called home. As a US foreign service spouse I have supported my wife’s international aid work, worked at various US Embassies, and raised two beautiful kids along the way. Each country has left an indelible impression on my music and my heart.
Before my family and I started globe-trotting I was signed to Ghostly International Records. The band was called POSTPRIOR. Postprior blended electronic and acoustic beats with EDM sensibilities. I was the drummer/ vocalist/ co-songwriter. “Williamsburg-Loft-Before-The-Bust” is an apt description…
My music has been featured in one film soundtrack so far – “The Armenian Spread”, streaming January 2026. I’m available for remote collaboration, remixes, song production, and drum design.
